GEORGIA (WTXL) - Three Georgia counties received a shipment of birds from a facility where birds were infected with avian flu according to the Georgia Department of Agriculture.
Those counties include Coffee County, Ben Hill County and Meriwether County.
Georgia was one of 37 states that received the birds from an Iowa facility, says the department.
The Georgia Department of Agriculture says other birds from the Iowa facility were tested after the birds had already been shipped.
Once the department found out about the birds, they quarantined all poultry at the three sites.
The department says the birds sent to Georgia were chickens and quails.
