TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) — Wild Adventures in Lowndes County, Georgia is set to reopen on Monday, June 22. It will have some new guidelines to keep staff and visitors safe.
Last summer, visitors Anna Lopez and her family visited Wild Adventures about once a week, and said they're ready to get back.
"Can't wait to see all of the animals, I think that's one of the most exciting parts that we're ready for," explained Lopez. "My kids are big animal lovers so we can't wait to get out there and check on all of the animals that we keep up with."
Wild Adventures will open at 11:00 a.m. on Monday and be open 7 days a week. Adam Floyd who works in the public relations department, encourages visitors to arrive early.
"We do recommend folks get here early around 10 o'clock," explained Floyd. "People will start to be able to stream into the area behind me so they can start social distancing."
Park staff will make sure visitors social distance on rides and while eating. Visitors can expect temperature checks at the front gate, as well as signs and markers on the ground reminding them to social distance. Not only will staff be required to wear masks, but so will visitors.
"We made sure we put several mask break zones in air conditioned areas inside the park," said Floyd. "You also don't have to wear a mask while you're eating or drinking. And at Splash Island Water Park, you only have to wear a mask when you're inside a building."
Lopez isn't bothered by the new guidelines, "Obviously it will be hot, we'll want to take breaks from wearing the masks. So, it'll be nice to utilize those little areas to kind of take a break from wearing the masks."
Wild Adventures will manage their capacity through online reservation. Floyd said go to the park's website and let them know what day and time you'll be attending.
Also, Floyd explained if you're a season pass holder for 2020, your pass is good for the rest of the year, as well as all of 2021.
