ATLANTA (AP) — A group of Georgia Democrats has held a two-hour sit-in on a state Capitol stairway after one Democratic lawmaker said it was improper that a police officer led her away while Democrats were protesting bills to restrict voting and elections. Friday's tensions arose over Republican efforts to change Georgia's voting and election laws, with a House vote on a major bill set for as early as Monday. A state trooper using a bullhorn ordered people to disperse. Democratic Rep. Park Cannon of Atlanta put her ear up to the bullhorn, blocking it. Cannon demanded an apology from another officer who moved her away. More than a dozen Democrats then sat on steps to join Cannon’s protest for about two hours.
