BEULAVILLE, N.C. (AP) - A Georgia man and his 3-year-old daughter have died after a car accident in North Carolina.
WNCT-TV (http://bit.ly/1brgjiO) reports 28-year-old Terrance Jackson was driving on N.C. 111 near Beulaville in Duplin County early Sunday morning when he hit a ditch and a tree before overturning his car. Police say Jackson died at the scene. His daughter, Payela Jackson, was taken to the hospital where she also died.
CBS-46 (http://bit.ly/1brgmLB ) reports Jackson was driving to a funeral in Jacksonville, North Carolina from Raleigh. The father and daughter were from Marietta, Georgia.
Highway Patrol says both passengers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Police say alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash and Jackson was not speeding at the time of the accident.
