JONESBORO, Ga. (AP) - An investigator for a metro Atlanta district attorney's office is resigning after facing criticism for a comment he made on social media about a shooting that injured a 1-year-old boy.

WSB-TV reports David Daniel, an investigator for the Clayton County District Attorney's office, took to the station's Facebook page to comment on a recent shooting in southeast Atlanta. In his comment, Daniel said gun violence is part of black culture, is linked to blacks receiving government support and won't stop until black people are taught to work for what they get.

District Attorney Tracy Graham Lawson said she was offended by the comment and was planning to fire Daniel.

Daniel's attorney Keith Martin says his client regrets making the comment and will give Lawson a letter of resignation.
