DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a 4-year-old girl from Macon, Georgia, drowned in the swimming pool at a Daytona Beach hotel.
According to a Daytona Beach police report, the caretakers of Hailey Stanley left her at the kiddie pool with two boys, ages 4 and 8, while they went to the Grand Seas Resort bar for drinks Thursday afternoon.
An incident report shows the child was vacationing in Florida with her 28-year-old cousin Nancy Hall and Hall's friend, 30-year-old Erin Johnson-Gray.
Matt Steed, a tourist from Oxford, Ohio, told police he saw the girl at the bottom of the pool and jumped in to pull her out. Another guest began performing CPR on the girl. Paramedics took her to a hospital where she died a short time later.
