GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The father accused of kidnapping his baby and taking him to Gadsden County was in court Tuesday.
Cooper was charged with contempt of court and was granted $1,500 bond.
GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A newborn kidnapped from Tampa has been found in Quincy.
Deputies got word that the one-month-old's parents kidnapped him from Hillsborough County about a week ago and may be in the Gadsden County area because the father has a relative in the area.
Monday night, deputies found the suspect vehicle, and then the trio at the Royal Inn on Jefferson Street.
The baby was given to the Department of Children and Families, as there was a court order pick-up for the baby when it was born. According to law enforcement, the mother has had two children removed in the past for physical abuse allegations.
Both parents were detained, and the man, David Cooper, was booked into jail on an outstanding warrant out of Illinois.
GCSO says the mother has not been arrested because there was no order for her arrest.
