DONALSONVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) - Authorities are investigating after a 49-year-old man was shot in killed in Donalsonville Wednesday night.
On Wednesday, around 11:20 p.m., the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was requested to assist the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office with the homicide of 49-year-old Michael Ladon Charckon.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Charckson and others were in the the 6800 block of Highway 374 near Allday's Country Store, where they went to meet someone.
Somehow, a fight broke out and Charckson was fatally shot at least one time by an unknown man.
Agents and deputies are interviewing witnesses and processing evidence to determine what took place that led to the shooting.
Charckon’s body was transported to the GBI Crime Lab in Macon where an autopsy will be performed. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call GBI Thomasville at 229-225-4099 or the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office at 229-524-5115.
