CAIRO, Ga. (WTXL) - Officials are investigating the death of a newborn baby in Grady County.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Thomasville Regional Office said that on Friday, they were requested by the Grady County Sheriff’s Office to assist in a death investigation involving a newborn baby girl.
The GBI says the baby was brought to Grady General Hospital on Friday where she was pronounced dead.
The infant's body will be taken to the GBI Crime Lab in Macon for an autopsy.
Officials say the investigation is ongoing.
