CAIRO, GA (WTXL) - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Cairo Police Department are investigating the shooting in Cairo Thursday afternoon as a homicide. 

On Thursday at about 4:20 p.m., GBI was asked to help the Cairo Police Department with the death investigation of 60-year-old Willie Bell. 

GBI states Bell was found in the yard of his home in the 600 block of 15th Street in Cairo. 

After further investigation, it was determined that Bell was shot.  

The case is being investigated as a homicide at this time and no arrests have been made at this point. 

Bell's Body was sent to the GBI Crime Lab where an autopsy was performed.  

GBI Agents and Cairo Police are in the area continuing to identify and interview witnesses as well as collecting evidence.

CAIRO, GA (WALB) - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Cairo Police Department are investigating a death.

According to Grady County Coroner Rusty Powe, he was called to the scene of a death around 12:20 p.m. on Thursday.

Powe said the person was found in the 600 block of 15th Street Southwest in Cairo. He said the person's death was not natural.

Officials have not released the identity of the person found at this time.

This investigation is active and ongoing.
