BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WTXL) - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating after they say a man shot and killed his cousin during an argument.
GBI says they were called in on Monday by the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office about a murder investigation in the 1000 block of Old Pelham Road in Bainbridge, Ga.
Deputies say that around 5:32 p.m. on Monday, they got a 911 call about shots being fired. When they arrived, they found witnesses and the suspected shooter, 33-year-old Mickey Alley, who also lives at the above address.
During the investigation, they learned that Mickey, another individual and the victim, identified as 52-year-old Danny Alley, had been arguing off and on all day.
The argument escalated between the cousins when Mickey shot Danny, who died as a result of his injuries.
It was determined through the investigation that the men were 1st cousins and knew each other.
Mickey has been charged with Danny's murder and is currently in the Decatur County Jail. An autopsy will be conducted on Danny Alley at the GBI Crime Lab in Macon, Ga.
