Quincy, FL (WTXL) -- Crossroads Academy Charter School was named a 2014 National Blue Ribbon School becoming the first school in Gadsden County to receive this honor.
Crossroads Academy was awarded in the category of Exemplary High Performing Schools.
The charter school was one of nine Florida schools to be named a National Blue Ribbon School in 2014.
Principal Kevin Forehand said, "As a charter school comprised of all minorities and full of economically disadvantaged scholars, we have defied statistics by proving that we can achieve at nationally competitive levels. I still believe that it does not matter who you are, where you are from, or what conditions and difficulties families are faced with; high quality education is attainable by everyone. Our entire community celebrates this recognition and Crossroad Academy is grateful to the community".
