GADSDEN COUNTY, FL. (WTXL) - Gadsden County's elderly residents can now have free smoke detectors delivered to and installed in their homes. It's all possible due to a Smoke Detector Grant offered by the Division of State Fire Marshal Bureau of Fire Prevention.
The Division of State Fire Marshall Bureau of Fire Prevention was recently awarded a FEMA Fire Prevention and Safety Grant to promote a comprehensive statewide fire campaign for the elderly population.
Gadsden County Fire Service will receive 150 smoke detectors for their local residents.
If you or someone you know is age 55 & older and do not currently have working smoke detectors in your home, you may contact the Gadsden County Fire Service at (850) 875-8699. There is a limit of two free smoke detectors per household.
