GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Gadsden County announced its Law Enforcement 'Officer of the Year' award Tuesday afternoon.
It's an award presented every year to an officer who has exceeded the duty requirements expected of his or her position -- and who has demonstrated a pattern of community service and professional achievement.
This year's officer of the year is Israel Baity.
"It really is an honor. I'm glad to be here," said Baity. "I mean it's wonderful to be among all these really amazing people for the county and for the state and I'm just really happy to be here."
The event was sponsored by several local Kiwanis, Rotary and Pilot Clubs.
