TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Gadsden County Sheriff's Office (GCSO) participated in this year's D.A.R.E. Day at the state Capitol on April 21, 2016. GCSO D.A.R.E. officer, Deputy/SRO Kandace Horne showed off her uniquely wrapped patrol car featuring the mascot "Daren" at the Capitol.
It was in observance of National Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Day, which is observed each year to celebrate the contributions and accomplishments of D.A.R.E. programs.
Gadsden County Sheriff Morris Young was once a D.A.R.E. officer. He says he supports the program and his deputies, who teach the 10-week curriculum to the K-12 students in the Gadsden County School District and host educational chats and presentations to the community.
