GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - It's been nearly four months since Hurricane Michael made landfall on Florida's Panhandle, and Gadsden County is still recovering and trying to pick up the pieces.

That's why a group of faith based leaders and the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office is organizing a group to meet the needs of the community.

This entire group is for the benefit of those living within the county, specifically those not only impacting by Hurricane Michael but those impacted by future natural disasters as well.

The group of volunteers will take recovery efforts head on by cleaning up debris, gathering supplies, and offer support to those who need it.

Organizers say even months removed from the hurricane, there is still a lot of work to be done.

If you missed Tuesday's meeting and you are interested in joining the team, you can contact the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office.
