LAGRANGE, Ga. (AP) — A 26-year-old man accused of killing his wife, three of her family members and a friend is being held without bond in the Troup County Jail.
Thomas J. Lee is charged with five counts of malice murder and appeared in magistrate court Wednesday.
Lee is accused in the deaths of his wife, her parents, her daughter and a family friend. The five were found in a house in LaGrange, near the Alabama border and roughly 65 miles southeast of Atlanta Saturday night.
Authorities have said Lee was arrested in Tupelo, Mississippi after telling a pastor that he was having car trouble and needed a bus ticket to Opelika, Alabama. Details on the potential motive in the slayings have not been released.
Calls to the county's public defender office weren't returned.
