MACON, Ga. (AP) - A 5-year-old girl has been critically injured in a school bus accident.
Macon Police Crime Lab Sgt. Melanie Hofmann says the child was hit by the rear tire of a school bus Monday and has been taken to a local hospital.
Bibb County Schools spokeswoman Stephanie Hartley tells the Telegraph of Macon (http://bit.ly/Zhaxru) the girl is a student at Barden Elementary School and is being treated in the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Hartley says the district's crisis support team will visit the girl's school Tuesday to support students and staff.
