TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - It was a somber day at Florida State University, as people gathered to honor the life of past president T.K. Wetherell.
His funeral service was held Friday afternoon at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall.
Wetherell served in the Florida House of Representatives for 12 years and was House Speaker for his last term in office.
He then became president of Tallahassee Community College and later Florida State University.
Officials from across the state, along with current FSU President John Thrasher, were at the service.
"He fought hard for the things he loved, particularly his friends, his family and this incredible Florida State University. T.K. you're my friend I learned from you, I love you and I will miss you," said Thrasher.
The funeral was followed by a private graveside service.
