WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL)--A sea turtle rescued in Wakulla County will soon be released back into the waters.
A fisherman found Allie the sea turtle sick and weak at Alligator Point in May 2012.
Since then she's been recovering at the Gulf Speciman Marine Lab. She could be released into the gulf as early as late spring.
The marine lab is hoping to track her adventures by satellite so visitors including students can continue to learn all about this endangered species.
Volunteers say the costs of equipment and satellite time is expensive so they've launched a fundraiser.
