ATLANTA (AP) — A man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for killing his cellmate inside the Fulton County Jail.
The office of Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. said in a news release Friday that Bobby Wynn was convicted of murder and aggravated assault in connection with the September 2014 death of 26-year-old Demontae Ware.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that an officer found Ware with his hands bound behind his back with a bed sheet and a strip of bed sheet tightly tied around his neck.
Wynn said he had acted in self-defense, but Howard says there were no defensive wounds on Wynn's body, undermining the suspect's argument.
Wynn had been in jail after being charged with battery and robbery.
