BAINBRIDGE, GA (WTXL) -- An oil tanker collided with a pickup truck Sunday evening, leaving a mix of diesel and fuel leaking on the road.
Bainbridge Public Safety says the accident happened around 8:30 p.m., when a Total Petroleum tanker and a Nissan Frontier collided at the bypass on Shotwell Street.
The truck became wedged under the tanker after impact, officials said. Both vehicles came to a rest in the grass, with the tanker leaking a mixture of diesel, regular fuel and premium fuel.
Crews sprayed foam to prevent the threat of fire. Public safety officials say cleaning up the scene will take hours, as the tanker will need to be fully drained before moving it off the road.
The driver of the pickup truck sustained minor injuries, officials said. As of 9:00 PM Sunday, Shotwell Street and the bypass entrance at Motiva are blocked.
