TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - You can fly to Ft. Lauderdale from Tallahassee and back four days a week, but Friday those flights have been canceled.
The cancellation comes after a man opened at the airport, killing five and injuring many others.
Tallahassee International Airport isn't changing its normal security measures at this time. Aviation director Chris Curry says that could change as more details come in from the horrific situation in Ft. Lauderdale. He says they follow guidance from Homeland Security and TSA.
"You always think it could be you and unfortunately we have a lot of experience now dealing with this because it has become the norm," said Curry.
"We certainly wish it wasn't, but we will keep Ft. Lauderdale in our prayers. "
Weather is also causing flights to be canceled.
