TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida State University has one of the nation's most internationally diverse student bodies.
FSU has been awarded the 2017 Senator Paul Simon Award for campus internationalization. The university is one of only four institutions in the nation to be selected for the annual award.
More than 2,000 international students were enrolled at Florida State in 2015; a 59% increase from a decade earlier.
"There's a lot of under-representation and I think that that needs to be fixed," said FSU student Marquise Rozier. "So while FSU is definitely moving in that direction, there definitely needs to be more done. There needs to be a lot more done."
FSU also recently added internationalization as a key component of the university's new five-year strategic plan.
