TALLAHASSEE, Fla.-- Florida State University announces that a Nobel Peace Laureate will be on campus next week to give a public talk.
Rigoberta Toom will be on campus Friday, April 8th as a part of the "Peace-Jam Southeast Public Talk and Conference".
The program is coordinated by the FSU Center for Leadership & Social Change.
Toom is a lifetime activist known for organizing peaceful resistance during the 1980's and participating in a farm strike for better working conditions.
She also organized large demonstrations in Guatemala during the country's 30 years of dictatorship, war and violence.
The talk will be at 6 p-m at the Turnbull Conference Center.
