TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A new study conducted by Florida State University shows a large gap between women and men in the business industry.

WTXL ABC 27's Jada Williams was live this Thursday morning with a break down of that study.

That two-year study found disparities between men and women in business such a pay gap, shorter tenures and a lack of women working in higher roles.

According to the study, only 5.4 percent of Fortune 500 CEOs are women.

But here in Tallahassee, plenty of groups and organizations are working to fill those roles with females.

The Oasis Center for Women and Girls spent the summer teaching its campers how to build a business from the ground up, eventually unveiling their work to the community.

Every year, the Women in Business Conference lets successful local business women mentor those looking to break into the industry.

And there's even groups for mom's to learn how to juggle entrepreneurship and motherhood.
