TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida State students are expected to vote tonight on whether or not the school should be classified as a "sanctuary campus" for undocumented students.
The referendum was put on the SGA elections ballot as "issue 2". The referendum is intended to tell the FSU administration to make policies to protect undocumented immigrants.
Under the "sanctuary campus" status, FSU agencies would not be allowed to release the immigration status of students to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or allow ICE to come to campus.
The election will continue until 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
We will have the election results on here as they become available.
