TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - To celebrate the first full day of Hanukkah, Chabad Lubavitch of Tallahassee hosted the lighting of the menorah on Florida State University's Landis Green, bringing the traditions of the holiday.
Students lined up to eat traditional Jewish foods, listen to music and be with friends.
Everyone held a candle and sang while Rabbi Oirechman performed the lighting of the menorah.
Students in attendance say they are grateful for the opportunity to come together.
Chabad Lubavitch has been hosting this event on Landis Green for 12 years.
Rabbi Oirechman says it's important for the Jewish community to gather and celebrate Hanukkah and the lighting of the menorah is a great way to do that.
