FSU student found dead, a member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Police Department says the person found dead on Buena Vista Drive Friday around 10: 30 a.m. was a Florida State student.

It has also been confirmed in a statement by Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity that the student was an associate member of the Beta Eta Chapter at Florida State University. 

Todd Shelton, Assistant Executive Director of Communication of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, sent the statement below: 

"An associate member of the Beta Eta Chapter at Florida State University died at an off-campus residence on Friday, November 3 after first responders were unable to revive him.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the student’s family and friends,” said Pi Kappa Phi Chief Executive Officer Mark E. Timmes. “We appreciate the partnership and support from the Division of Student Affairs during this difficult time.”

All chapter operations are currently suspended, and the members of the chapter have been directed to cooperate fully with all investigative efforts." - Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity Statement 

The name of the student has not been released and there is no word on the victim's cause of death.
