TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - A 19-year-old is in jail after FSU Police say he made a threat to harm students and Florida State employees on a social media site.

According to Florida State University Police, they were contacted by Yik Yak administrators on Friday saying a threat was made near FSU.

FSUPD was able to identify Carlos Lopez, an FSU student, as a possible suspect.

Police found him on the main campus where he was taken to the FSU police station to be interviewed.

Police say Lopez told investigators he made the threat to get, "...a response out of those who viewed it."

According the police, the threat claimed "there would be bloodshed on campus tomorrow," and that this was the school's warning.

Lopez was charged with written threats to kill or do bodily injury and was booked in the Leon County Jail.

No weapons were found on Lopez or at his home.
