FSU's First Full-Time Title IX Director Begins Work Today

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)- Jennifer Broomfield started as FSU's Title IX director today, becoming the first full time employee at the university to concentrate solely on Title IX efforts.

She will be responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of policies, procedures, and practices, to ensure FSU is complying with federal and state laws.

Title IX is a federal law that ensures all education programs and activities are free from discrimination on the basis of gender, including sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual violence and other sexual misconduct.

Before taking the position, Broomfield worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs as manager of the national domestic violence/intimate partner violence assistance program.
