TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Every year, Florida State University hosts 'Dance Marathon' to raise money and awareness for children with pediatric injury and illness.
Tuesday, Dance Marathon presented a check to the FSU College of Medicine for nearly $1 million to be used for their outreach programs.
Each spring, thousands of students volunteer to dance and stand on their feet during two, 20 hour shifts, at the Civic Center in order to raise this money.
It is a volunteer based event which students choose to participate in to give back to the community. Dance Marathon is the largest student-run philanthropy on FSU's campus.
