TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A new online program for incoming FSU freshmen is hoping to help them deal with trauma before they start college.

The FSU Resilience Project was sparked by the college of social work after a study showed many students could use the help dealing with trauma.

Officials say 6,000 incoming freshmen will take the online course. It helps students deal with trauma they faced before college, in order to help them deal with the new trauma's that could come with college.

The course includes helpful ways to cope, short videos of FSU students talking about their struggles, and resources to get help.

The professor behind the project tells WTXL that a group of students used the tool this summer and had great things to say about it.
