TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida State University resumed classes today after Hurricane Irma closures.
Power and internet outages in some areas made communications more difficult as students tried to stay in touch with family and friends who were directly affected.
Stress levels are receding with the flood waters as students learn the status of their homes and neighborhoods. Access to the keys was opened today and people are now able to check on their homes there.
"Well, we are all from Tampa, but my dad does have a house in the Keys. So, he is trying to get back there, but he's also dealing with slight damages in Tampa," said Mackenzie Carmichael, an FSU student. "It is kind of an unknown still."
Students are ready to get back to work after the week off.
