TALLAHASSEE, FL. (WTXL) - Florida State University has a new project aimed at giving students more resources to put an end to campus suicides.
The project, funded by the U.S. Department of Health, will provide training to faculty, staff and students within the university's academic departments on how to support students and in early detection of student distress. The goal of the initiative is to increase the number of people on campus who feel like they can identify and intervene when a student is struggling.
The department of health's 306-thousand dollar grant will fund the project for 3 years.
