TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - A Florida State University business professor has resigned following comments that she made on Facebook.

FSU professor Deborah O'Connor commented on a Facebook post by a New York City beauty consultant who was talking about the recent grand jury decisions in New York and Ferguson. The consultant was also talking about Eric Holder's announcement of opening an investigation into the 12-year-old who was fatally show in Cleveland while carrying a toy gun.

O'Connor said in her comment: "take your northern (gay slur) elitism and shove it up your (expletive)." She goes on to say "Obama has singlehandedly turned our great society into a ghetto culture, rivaling that of Europe."

WTXL reached out to O'Connor about the comments, and she declined an interview, saying that she has already paid the price for the comments.

She did offer a statement: "I find it hypocritical that the first amendment is a one-way street today, and I think the street is in favor of the liberals."
