TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - A reported attempted abduction on the 700 Block of Jefferson Street has been deemed a false report by Florida State University Police.
FSUPD says the report was determined to be false after the student, Makenna L. Wilbrett, admitted during an interview, "...that the crime was made up in her mind."
Police say that 18 year-old Wilbrett is being charged with Making False Report of Commission of a Crime and was taken to the Leon County Jail.
In a statement released through an FSU Alert, FSUPD Police Chief David Perry said, "Law enforcement is working feverishly to investigate these attempted abductions in our area, and this diversion of resources has not only been a disservice to those victims who are seeking justice, but has further frightened our community."
