TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida State University football player Gregory Dent is facing a sexual assault charge, according to the Tallahassee Police Department.

According to an arrest report, a high school friend says Dent repeatedly tried to have sex with her around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 9. The woman says that she and Dent are close friends, so much so that her parents know him.

She says that earlier that evening she cooked dinner for Dent, they went out to a local nightclub. She slept over Dent's apartment that night -- she told police that this happens regularly without any sexual activity taking place.

She says that later that evening, Dent forcefully tried to kiss her and have sexual relations with her. She told police she declined and fought her way out of the apartment by biting him, grabbing his hair, and punching him. She says the incident ended with her running out of the apartment screaming.

Dent was arrested later Sunday evening. He is charged with one count of sexual assault.

Dent, a senior, is a wide receiver with the Florida State University football team. According to his bio on Seminole.com, he is from Belle Glade, Florida.
