TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Florida State University fraternity is suspended and under investigation following hazing allegations.
FSU Police say Omega Psi Phi is being investigated for possible criminal hazing activity.
Meanwhile, FSU Police are recommending students stand up to and report hazing.
FSU offers the website hazing.fsu.edu that students can use to report hazing, and they can do it anonymously.
"Under the Chad Meredith Act, the State of Florida has taken a very serious stance and needed to make a statement about hazing and convey that it is not tolerated," states FSU Police Major Jim Russell, "And it's very important that we, as university officials and law enforcement and students alike, do not turn a blind eye to it, but address it head on."
FSU Police say whether a felony or misdemeanor, hazing is not condoned.
FSU is not releasing specifics about the hazing investigation into the fraternity as the investigation is ongoing.
