FSU Libraries Release Statement After Strozier Shooting

TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - The Florida State University Libraries have released an official statement regarding last Thursday's shooting at Strozier Library.

The university libraries say that they "offer our most sincere appreciation for the outpouring of support from students, faculty, staff, alumni, the library community and countless others from around the world who supported us through the tragic events of last Thursday."

They thanked the first responders as well as Tallahassee Police and FSU Police for their response and support. They said that they hope to work with university police and library security to make sure the library is the safest it can be.

"With your continued support, we will move forward and make Strozier Library even safer and more comfortable than it is today."

They also said that if any one affected by the shooting needs support or someone to talk to, they can call Counseling Center at (850) 644-2003 or the Employee Assistance Program at (850) 644-2288.
