TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee women turned 101 Friday, and was granted one bucket list item.

Vivian Allen is a resident at the Mulligan Park Retirement Community.

According to one of the managers of the community, they asked her if she regretted something in her 100 years.

"My biggest regret, the one thing I've always wanted to accomplish, is to be a Professor of English," said Allen.

Friday, the FSU English Department surprised Allen with a certificate and a ceremony making her an honorary member of the faculty. She says FSU runs through her family history.

"I have two granddaughters who graduated from Florida State," said Allen. "I have a son from California who got his masters from Florida State, so everything is fine, it's just the way it should be."

At the bottom of the certificate it reads "Congratulations, Professor Allen."
