TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Two FSU football players are facing charges after police caught them smoking marijuana near campus.
Zaquandre White, 19, and Kyle Meyers, 19, are facing charges for possession of marijuana. Additionally, White is facing drug paraphernalia charges.
According to a notice to appear document, the two were seen driving without headlights down Hayden Road the night of Jan. 31. Police say the car was acting suspiciously and had pulled into multiple parking spots in a gravel parking lot.
When police approached, they smelt burning cannabis, so they went to talk to the vehicle's occupants.
Once they spoke with the occupants, White and Meyers, they wrote that White had a "blunt" in his mouth and had a cigarillo pouch, a large amount of loose cannabis and cigarillo "innards" in his lap.
The players were asked to get out of the car. While Meyers was compliant with officers, White denied there was marijuana in the car even after officers found it in his lap initially.
They were both served a notice to appear.
White is a running back for FSU while Meyers is a cornerback.
