TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida State offensive lineman Josh Ball is no longer on the team's roster.

A spokesman for FSU says Ball is not in good standing with the school. According to the student conduct code, that means Ball will have to withdraw from classes.

However, FSU cannot say much more because of student privacy laws.

This comes six months after Ball's ex-girlfriend filed for a protective order, saying the football player had hit her during their relationship.

There's no word on whether Ball will attempt to work his way back into FSU, but according to the student conduct code, readmission is not guaranteed after a period of separation is complete.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida State University offensive lineman Josh Ball has been suspended.

This comes after Ball's former girlfriend was granted a petition for protection citing dating violence against Ball last November.

At the time, Ball waived his right to a final hearing and agreed to a four-year injunction, meaning he not go within 500 feet of the woman's home, job or school.

However, he was allowed to continue classes at FSU.

We have reached out to FSU for comment on what this means for Ball in terms of football. We have not heard back.
