TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Charlie Ward, a name synonymous with Florida State football, is coming back to Tallahassee in an ambassador role with the university and he will also coach basketball at the high school level.
Ward, former Florida State quarterback, Heisman Trophy winner, national champion, and former NBA player, is coming back to Tallahassee and he couldn't be more excited.

He will coach at Florida High next season and will start working with the team this summer.
Ward said the opportunity to live closer to home was a big factor in accepting the job and that the opportunity presented itself at the right time.
He's coached football at Booker T. Washington the last four years in Pensacola. This will be his first basketball job.
