TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Many stores and companies were hurt by the loss of two Florida State home games and a week of committee legislation meetings.
While gas stations and hardware stores were able to sustain business others were not.
The owner of Nic's Toggery says it was a natural slow down, since the area rarely gets hit with severe weather.
"We've seen some decline when you lose two home games a week of legislative committee meetings a week before the hurricane a week after the hurricane," said owner Victor Gavalas. "We're looking for normalcy its been slow for a few weeks and were ready to go the football games will be coming the block parties will be back."
In addition to local business, Hurricane Irma also caused the Tallahassee Airport and governmental buildings to shut down.
