TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The sad news among the Florida State University family is that faithful fan Bob Schmidt has passed away.
The seasoned Seminole died Sunday.
Schmidt, 94, supported previous head coach Jimbo Fisher and regularly attended the coach's weekly show.
He had also planned to attend Monday night's opening game with new head coach Willie Taggart.
Schmidt was a World War II veteran who'd been honored for his service to our country during FSU football games. He also circulated the internet for a touching moment he shared with former FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher.
Funeral services are set to begin Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at Saint Louis Catholic Church in Tallahassee.
