TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Florida State University's athletic department will net over $865,000 for the Seminole's appearance in the 2015 Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl.
According to university earning reports, the team earned just over $2.5 million in revenue. A little more than $2 million of that came from the ACC for their appearance in the bowl, in which the Noles lost to Houston 38-24 on December 31. The team also earned an additional $175,000 in other revenues.
The team had planned to spend almost $1.8 million for the bowl appearance. In the end, the team only spent just under $1.4 million.
About $745,000 of that went towards meals, lodging and other per diem expenses. $175,000 was absorbed due to either lack of tickets being sold or tickets that were distributed to family and friends of team members, cheerleaders, band members and other staff.
