TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- There's a hashtag on social media that has Tallahassee buzzing since Sunday.
In light of the recent headlines surrounding Florida State University's football team, professor Mark Zeigler tweeted, "FSU folks. We need a rally. Wear your colors. Tweet messages about your great FSU experiences. #somuchmorethanfootball."
The post comes after two FSU football players De'Andre Johnson and Dalvin Cook were each charged with battery in two separate incidents.
The tweet posted at 11 a.m. Sunday has been retweeted more than 250 times, and the hashtag has been used more than 1,000 times worldwide.
Students and graduates of FSU have flocked to Twitter, sharing their proudest memories and reasons why FSU is more than just a football school.
On campus Monday, students echoed the sentiment that the university has much more to offer.
"A lot of people don't know they have an amazing film school, and I got accepted to it, so it was like I had to go," said incoming freshman Jacqueline Xerri. "Their arts program is really good."
"I love the campus. The programs are amazing," added senior Carly Jones. "There's a lot of stuff to do around campus. I mean, it's beautiful."
"You can have the most fun experience of your life if you just kinda look past what people might say is negative," said incoming freshman Calvin Anderson.
If you'd like to join the Twitter conversation, tweet using the hashtag #WTXL and share what you think makes FSU more than football.
