TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State’s baseball and softball programs will be honored during the June meeting of Florida Governor Rick Scott and his cabinet, scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on June 13.

Head baseball coach Mike Martin became the all-time winningest coach in college baseball history when he won his 1,976th game on May 5 against Clemson. Martin has led the Seminoles for the past 39 seasons, taking FSU to the postseason in each year as head coach.

Softball head coach Lonni Alameda led Florida State to its first National Championship on June 5. The Seminoles tied an NCAA record with six wins in elimination games during the 2018 NCAA postseason, and became the third team ever to lose its first game of the Women’s College World Series and come back to win the title. It is the first softball NCAA Championship in ACC history.

Coaches, family, players and staff of both programs will be in attendance at the meeting on June 13.
