TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)- A new football season kicked off Monday for Florida State University and Virginia Tech. To celebrate this occasion, many fans tailgated with family and friends.
Florida State and Virginia Tech Fans traveled from near and far to come to Tallahassee for fun, food and football!
From Lake Bradford road to Doak Campbell stadium the area was filled with garnet, gold, maroon and burnt orange.
College football fans from all over the country set up temporary shop in the Capital City playing games, cooking food and getting ready to watch their teams go at it, in the first game of their season.
"It's a great experience. People work hard everyday of the week and everybody from the Nole nation gets together sharing the same spirit," said FSU fan David Boose.
Some fans say no matter what team you root for, everybody wins when it comes to tailgating. It's a time to support your team, meet new people and spend time friends and family.
"Just the camaraderie with your friends, family, of course eating the good grilled food," Virginia Tech Forrest Smith. "Just having a good time and celebrating the team and celebrating how sports brings everyone together."
Even though both sides agree tailgating is fun, Virginia Tech and Florida State fans both disagree on who will win the game. However, they believe this will be a great start to the season for both teams.
